Our Commitment to Equine Health
Dedicated to Nurturing Horses from the Inside Out
Our Journey
Our commitment to the health of horses inspires our work
Foundation of Care
Established by Tina Brandt in 2017, Healthy Horses Inside Out was created to fulfill a demand for supplements that aim to maintain the proper mineral ratio balance in equine diets, particularly in relation to forage intake, which is often neglected.
Her goal is to offer high-quality, multifunctional supplements at a fair price and to promote a feeding regimen that targets and supports a healthy digestive system and overall horse wellness.
The cornerstone of a horse's health is rooted in their entire mineral ratio intake or lack therefore, that heavily impacts both internal & external wellness.
Commitment to Quality
We prioritize the selection of only premium ingredients for our supplements. We collaborated with the leading supplier in the provision of vitamin and mineral premixes to the New Zealand feed sector.
For over 4 decades they have been market leaders in the South Pacific in procuring raw materials globally through a well-established network of agencies and suppliers as well as exports to South East Asia and the Pacific Basin.
Their plants operate under a strict Quality Management System. The system is regularly audited by the Ministry for Primary Industries and is certified as being compliant with good manufacturing practices.

Our Dedicated Team
Committed to Your Horse's Health
Owner
Tina's journey began in Auckland, where her passion for horses was not shared by her family. It was during her early twenties, after acquiring her first horse, that she embarked on a profound path of discovery and formal education in all things equine. She studied various disciplines, including Equine Bowen Therapy, hoof care, holistic management and horsemanship. With 15 years in the hospitality industry, progressing from a cleaning position to hotel management, Tina made a pivotal career shift in 2009. This change allowed her to leverage her equine knowledge professionally for several years, until the arrival of her daughter in 2014. This hiatus ultimately led to the creation of the supplements available today. The creation of these supplements were inspired by her own horse herd of 9 at the time, and what she wanted to be able to provide in 1 simple low dose product that no company was offering.

Encouraged to continue her own learning, Molly has started training in Flinchlock Release, Contact Care.
HHIO Herd
This very special and powerful herd of nine horses played a pivotal role in the establishment of HHIO, continually providing guidance and education to Tina. Their presence is fundamental to the essence of HHIO. Each horse brings its own personality and insights, enriching Tina's understanding of equine health, needs and welfare.

Sarah Blackburn - Blackburn Equitation
I discovered Working Equitation a decade ago and was instantly hooked. Disappointed by the direction competitive Dressage was heading in, I was thrilled to find a discipline that fostered and rewarded true harmony and partnership between horse and rider, promoting progressive training with the utmost respect for the horse’s mind and body. This is something I am very passionate about. Since then, I have taught hundreds of WE clinics and training days in NZ and have introduced countless riders to the discipline. I also run competitions 3-4 times each year.
Along with ethical training using learning theory, correct rider and horse biomechanics are of particular interest to me. I follow an holistic approach to horse training, taking into account the horse's environment, hoof and dental care, saddle fit and diet. Our supplements are formulated to correct mineral deficiencies in your horse's diet. By addressing these imbalances, we help ensure your horse receives the essential nutrients it needs for peak performance and overall well-being.
Annabel Fitzsimons - Fitzsimons Equestrian
So excited to be selected for Sponsorship by HHIO. We have been feeding HHIO for 2 years which has had amazing results with our horses and ponies, the most noticeable changes have been hoof quality, shine on coats, soft muscles and more consistent behavior.
We have a team of eight equines and three riders, my daughters Ella, Katie and myself Annabel. We compete most weekends in a variety of disciplines our main ones: Dressage, Eventing, Showing and RTR. We have found HHIO to be a vital part of keeping the horses performing at their best.
Georgia Wiltshire - Torrent Farm
Georgia is a well-recognized rider and coach from the Bay of Plenty. She introduced Torrent Farm Equestrian in 2016 following a very successful competition career at an early age. Over the past years Georgia has become a reputable horse trainer, producing young horses, particularly those with behavioral issues.
While she now dedicates her time to the development of horses and riders through regular coaching and training, she also has her own young team of horses she is currently producing for future competition. Georgia has been feeding HHIO supplements for just under a year now (2022) and is truly impressed with the results of simple, cost-effective nutrition.Natalie DeCaro - It's a Stitch up
Natalie is South Island based horsewoman originally hailing from Canada who has a variety of equine experience from driving a horse and carriage, grooming for top eventers and show jumpers around the world to barrel racing, eventing, cowboy challenge and running kids camps. The horse has always been the constant in her life and aims to make sure it stays that way.
To achieve this she has always tried to ensure the welfare of the horse is number one and this starts with balanced nutrition, keeping it simple, slow and steady progression and listening and watching what the horse is trying to say.
You will find Natalie working slowly and steadily towards her goals of having settled, happy horses who are safe and easy to be around and try hard for her in any situation.
Kathryn Angus - KPH Stud & HP Saddlery NZ
We’ve been using HHIO products for years now and they’re the only ones we’ll ever use! It’s great to be able to use a product that is designed specifically for NZ pastures and its deficiencies & to support a NZ business.
We use it for all of our horses and youngstock so that we know they’re getting all the minerals in one go that they need to grow and keep well without having to spend a fortune. We especially like to use this with our broodmares to make sure they’re getting all the right minerals to make a great foals, and I would say that they do very well on HHIO products post-foaling: boucing back quickly and maintaining condition more easily while the foal is on them. Any issues we’ve had with mud fever are gone, hooves grow better & stronger, and their coats all look fabulous too no matter what time of year. Our working horses all get additionally supplemented with HHIO Support to aid their gut health & immunity, and the inclusion of the toxin binder is great to keep them on track during any pasture fluxuations . I would recommend Tina & HHIO products for all horses!
Tara McConnell - Equine Rewind
I’m Tara McConnell from Equine Rewind.
I’ve been trimming horses hooves for 20 years and doing bodywork for 12 of those years. I have had up to 15 horses at a time (currently I own four), and with these horses I have competed in many disciplines, my main discipline now is western performance with my main horse winning ApHANZ Super Horse twice and counting along with National titles and too many high point wins to count.
None of this would be possible without knowing the importance of a correct diet for overall health and top performance and that’s why I’m an ambassador for HHIO- feed what’s needed and nothing else, keeping feeding simple and species specific is paramount. I want only the best for my horses and my clients and HHIO provides this.
Lilly Deihl - MR Barefoot Trimming Services HB
Hello my name is Lilly Deihl, I am 23 years old and the owner of MR Barefoot Trimming Services HB. I am a Barefoot Trimmer based out of Napier, Hawkes Bay. I have been trimming professionally for a year and a half, but first started out trimming my own horses back in 2021. I follow many methods of trimming and do what is best for the horse and hoof I am working with in front of me. Recently I have taken this up as my full time job as of May 2024 which is super exciting! The services I provide are Barefoot Trimming, Hoof Boot Fittings, handling of young horses to prepare for trimming, and a bit of nutrition advice to help my clients horses grow strong healthy hooves. I do also specialize in trimming horses that have had bad farrier experiences in the past, helping them on the path of trusting me to trim their feet in a kind and patient manor. My more holistic approach allows healing and proper function of the hoof.
Currently I own 3 horses. Alfie my rising 3 year old Appaloosa gelding, Reina my rising 2 year old half American Saddlebred mare, and my 15 year old Thoroughbred gelding Finn. I love to trek and have fun on my horses by going to the beach and over farmland.
