LINSEED 4KG

LIMIT 1 PER ORDER<br>For your convenience. HHIO now have 4kg bags of whole linseed available. Ideal for people with 1 horse who don't want to buy a bulk bag of whole linseed (the cheapest option). For more specific information please refer to the resources page.<br><br>This is the whole linseed and will require crushing just before feeding. <br><br>The purpose of feeding fresh crushed linseed is primarily for the omega 3 component, however it is also a good source of protein, fibre, fat and phosphorus. Equine diets are typically top heavy in omega 6 (soy, canola, corn, sunflower - all HHIO avoids; and hay).<br><br>For omega 3 supplementation feed at 10g per 100kg.<br><br>For weight gain/condition feed up to 100g per 100kg. MAG PHOS - 5kg

Phosphorus supplement to correct deficient levels in diet or balance Calcium:Phosphorus ratios in the equine diet.<br><br>This MUST be fed in a balanced diet to ensure correct supplementation. A diet with too much Phosphorus and not enough Calcium has serious implications. Not recommended for equines grazing oxalate pasture or those on high grain diets.<br><br>The only way you will know for sure is to get your pasture and/or hay tested. If in doubt feed DCP. Potential symptoms of low Phosphorus or a calcium AND phosphorus imbalance especially if sodium & copper needs have been addressed, potentially are chewing/eating wood fences, stripping/eating bark off trees, eating manure, licking concrete etc. There can be other issues at play such as dental, gut, lack of fibre, health and stimulation/happiness issues which brings it back to being fed in a balanced diet. <br><br>25g Mag Phos provides:<br>3.4g Phosphorus<br>6g Magnesium<br>250mg Calcium<br>500mg Sulphur<br>Level 25ml scoop = 25g not included<br><br>Feed 25-50g dose depending on size, needs and existing levels.<br><br>Must be used in conjunction with a minerally balanced diet.<br><br>Product batches may have variation in color to what is pictured.

DCP - 5kg

Calcium & Phosphorus supplement to correct deficient levels in the diet. A must for breeding and young stock up to approx. 5 years alongside HHIO Mineral formulas. <br><br>Each 20g dose:<br>4.8g Calcium<br>3.6g Phosphorus<br><br>Dose Rate 20 - 100g depending on needs & size of animal<br><br>Level 25ml scoop = 20g - not included<br><br>To be used in conjunction with a minerally balanced diet.<br><br>Please note DCP can be purchased from your local farm store and sometimes larger horse feed places for approx. $60 for a 20-25kg bag which is more economical. It will store well in a clean dry place out of direct sunlight. <br><br>The HHIO formulations do not include calcium or phosphorus as most adult horses receive enough calcium from their diet and hard feeds. Phosphorus tends to lack (except oxalates). IF you are following the HHIO feed protocol the base calcium and phosphorus needs will be met within the inclusions in your hard feed. For example, lucerne chaff (we love the balanced use of lucerne) is high in Calcium and is the most highly absorbable form of calcium for horses to consume. Then Copra, rice bran and linseed are all higher in phosphorus. Which fed together will provide Ca:P.
